“A picture is worth a thousand words.” Elmer Johnson has done well in his rehab efforts with the direction from student Occupational Therapist, Jenna Atwood. Jenna is under the supervision of Cody West, OTR/L (not pictured). Cody has been a mentor to several OT students over the past years here at Signature HealthCARE of Georgetown. He is an excellent example of applying our pillar of Learning. Jenna has been doing so much with our residents over the course of her studies. One project she initiated was the painting of the doors to our storage shelf in the therapy gym. The doors were painted by residents and represented a theme of their choice. Painting is the type of activity that stimulates dexterity, muscle movement of the hands, arms and shoulders. It also benefits by stimulating the creative parts of the brain. Thank you, Jenna, for contributing to the beautification of our gym and the building of our culture.
